Messi dives into the world of space exploration and satellite clean-up

Messi's Space Kick

So turns out I'm not just a wizard with a soccer ball. I also have a knack for space exploration or at least writing about it. Today I've got some news from my buddies at SpaceX. Brace yourselves!

Satellite Wipeout

Imagine losing 100 satellites in a year. That's like me missing 100 shots on goal in a single game. Okay maybe not quite but you get the picture. Well apparently that's what would be considered a disaster for most satellite operators. But not for SpaceX. Those guys are out of this world!

SpaceX's Starlink Shenanigans

SpaceX recently announced that they're going to de orbit 100 of their Starlink satellites. Now before you go asking what the heck 'de orbit' means it basically just means bringing those satellites down to Earth. And get this it's only 2% of the Starlink satellites they've launched! Talk about a clean up feat!

Replacing Satellites Like a Boss

What's even more impressive is that SpaceX can produce and launch replacement satellites in just two weeks. Seriously two weeks! That's like me recovering from an ankle injury and scoring a hat trick in my first game back. Okay maybe not but you get the idea.

SpaceX's Debris Dilemma

Now you might be wondering why SpaceX is going through all this trouble of de orbiting their own satellites. Well let me tell ya it's all about avoiding future hazards. Those faulty Starlink satellites could cause trouble for SpaceX's rockets and spacecraft. And trust me they've already had their fair share of mishaps. Remember that time they lost a bunch of satellites to a solar storm? Yeah not their finest moment.

Messi's Burning Question

Now here's a question for ya: how do you incentivize governments to clean up their junk? It's like asking how do you teach a defender to stop me from scoring goals. Trust me it's a tough one. But someone's gotta figure it out because we can't have nations leaving trash up there in space. It's not like they have yellow cards for littering!
