Well well well looks like New York is cracking down on business fraud folks! I must say they really mean business. Pun intended. Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron has ordered none other than Donald Trump to pay a hefty sum of over $350 million in penalties. Ouch! That's quite the number. I guess Trump will have to dip into his "infinite wealth," *wink wink* to settle this one.

No Officer or Director Trump?

But wait there's more! In addition to the penalties Judge Engoron has also banned Trump from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or legal entity for the next three years. I can just imagine Trump now thinking of all the titles he won't be able to add to his resume. Sorry Donald it looks like the Trump Tower will have to run without you for a while.

No Loans for You!

Oh and here's the cherry on top: Trump is prohibited from applying for loans from any financial institution chartered by or registered with the New York financial services department for the next three years as well. It's safe to say he won't be getting that loan for a new golf course anytime soon. Tough luck my friend.

Naturally President Trump plans to appeal the ruling. In the words of my good friend Warren Buffett 'It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.' I wonder if Trump will be able to rebuild his reputation after this whole ordeal. Good luck with that Donnie!

Now let's talk about the juicy details of the trial. In a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James Trump and his company were accused of fraudulently inflating his assets to boost his net worth. Ah the classic case of inflating one's net worth to feel a little extra important. Been there done that! Just kidding I actually avoid legal troubles like the plague.

Expensive Fines for the Trump Dynasty

Judge Engoron didn't hold back when it came to fines. Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. have been ordered to pay fines of over $4 million each. That's a lot of pocket change! Looks like the Trump brothers will be tightening their belts for a while. Maybe they can learn a thing or two about budgeting. I'm sure they can afford a financial adviser to help them with that.
