She made the pitch at a private gathering of the American Opportunity Alliance a group of Republican megadonors encouraging them to ignore Trump's offensive remarks.

Wiles emphasized that despite his controversial statements Trump is in pole position in the Republican primary for president. She urged the donors to focus on the fact that he is the GOP's best hope to defeat incumbent President Joe Biden.
