In another blow to the ruling Conservative Party the Labour Party pulled off impressive victories in two by elections. In Wellingborough Northamptonshire Labour produced a massive 28.5% vote swing their second largest since 1945. The party won 45.9% of the vote compared to the Conservative's result of 24.6%. Looks like the Tories need a lesson in swinging!

Out with the Old In with the Labour

The by election in Wellingborough was prompted by allegations of bullying and inappropriate behavior against Conservative MP Peter Bone. He denied the claims but the damage was done. Labour's winning candidate Gen Kitchen celebrated the victory calling it a "stunning victory for the Labour Party." Watch out Tories Labour is taking over!

Labour Overturns Conservative Majority in Kingswood

The other by election took place in Kingswood South Gloucestershire where Labour managed to overturn a Conservative majority of 11,220 with a 16.4% vote swing. The constituency's new Labour MP Damien Egan promised to "work to give Kingswood its future back." Looks like the Conservatives are losing their grip!
