The beverage giant slays competition and faces otherworldly challenges

The Numbers Are In!

Coca Cola has reported its quarterly earnings and while they may not be as exciting as a trip to the Slurm factory they've met Wall Street's expectations. The beverage maker has managed to overcome a volume decline in North America with higher prices. Who needs Fry's two cents when you have 49 cents per share?

North American Volume Takes a Sip

In a move that would make Bender proud Coca Cola's North American volume shrank by 1%. Apparently demand for Coke's water sports drinks coffee and tea fell. Looks like people are reaching for Slurm instead!

PepsiCo Takes a Dive

While Coca Cola may have seen a decline in volume rival PepsiCo had it even worse. Their North American beverage unit fell by a whopping 6%. Looks like people have finally realized there's only one true choice when it comes to drinks in the future!

Coke CEO James Quincey Speaks Out

"We've seen strong growth for some of the higher price point premium segments like Fairlife Core Power Simply so there's clearly multiple things going on in the landscape," said Coke CEO James Quincey. It seems like even in the future people are willing to splurge on fancy drinks. Looks like Leela's favorite Slurm is in good company!

Looking to the Future

Coca Cola has big plans for the future. They're forecasting organic revenue growth of 6% to 7% and an increase in earnings per share of 4% to 5%. Just like Fry's dreams of a better future Coca Cola is aiming for success. Let's hope they don't encounter any paradoxes along the way!

Currency Woes and Foreign Exchange

Unfortunately Coca Cola expects that foreign exchange rates will weigh on both its earnings and revenue for the full year. They're anticipating a 4% headwind from currency exchange rates in the first quarter. Looks like they'll have to deal with Zoidberg's favorite Zoidbucks!

Do you think they'll ever release a Slurm-flavored Coke? My taste buds are tingling!
